Get aboard the Advantage Charter and see the gigantic HUMPBACK WHALE! Sharing time with these playful gentle giants of the ocean is a soul-stirring experience, leaving memories that will last beyond a lifetime. Turtle Tours (Seasonal)
Visitors can see both loggerhead and leatherback turtles nesting on beaches by embarking on an incredible night turtle tour! The ancestors of these magnificent creatures date back some 200 million years and it is an unforgettable privilege to stand beside a giant leatherback. The most common turtles in the region are the Leatherback, Loggerhead, Olive Ridley, Green Turtle and the Hawkbill.

Lake Cruises on St. Lucia
Explore the lake of St. Lucia by means of a boat safari! The trip will bring visitors into close proximity with hippo lazing in the waters and crocodiles basking in the sun on the estuary's banks. Pelicans riding the thermals overhead and sights of Goliath Herons stabbing at fish in the lake make this a true African Experience. Whales and schools of dolphins frequent this spectacular coastline, also the natural breeding habitat for the leatherback and loggerhead turtles. The warm Mozambique current also attracts a kaleidoscope of colourful tropical fish that feed off the coral reefs.

Game Drive

Horse Riding
For novices or experienced riders! There are few places in the world where you can ride in an area as unspoilt or beautiful as this, from the edge of the Indian Ocean to the shores of St Lucia estuary. Take a ride along Iphiva Beach at the northern end of St Lucia where you can admire dolphins playing in the surf, and view the highest sand dunes in Africa! Massive humpback whales can also be seen breaching in the deep water during whale season (June-Nov). You may also wish to take a ride through the Reserve, where you can see zebra, wildebeest, bushbuck, warthog, duiker and impala while riding. This ride is the perfect start for a novice as it is a gentle ride with lots of interest along the way!

Ghost Mountain Hike
Hike to the top of the Ghost Mountain and take in the expansive view of the area including the battle grounds of the 1884 Battle of Tshaneni. Local legend has it that the mountain is haunted and there are claims that, at times, lights can be seen emanating from the summit and eerie sounds can be heard. This intriguing mountain is a protected site of cultural and historical significance. Hike up the eastern side and learn more about the history and folk lore of the mountain and the surrounding area.

Tiger Fishing
Lake Jozini lies in a dramatic setting at the foot of the Lebombo Mountains. With a surface area of approximately 13 500 hectares, it is one of South Africa’s largest dams. Included in the 13 varieties of fish found in the dam are tilapia, catfish, mud fish, carp and the sought after tiger fish. A catch and release policy for the tigers is promoted and anglers are encouraged to retain only one trophy fish each per day, releasing the live smaller ones.

Deep Sea Fishing
Although it is considered by many to be mainly a dive destination, Sodwana offers excellent fishing, either from the shore or from ski boats. It is also home to some of the biggest fishing competitions in Africa! Black and Blue Marlin are also caught from the ski boats.
