Lie by our heated rim flow swimming pool sipping cocktails in the warm African sunshine with a view over the entire peninsula. You can see our Zulu village, a tiny dot in the east. While in the vista elephants and other animals pass, live and play. All this without moving from your sun lounger.
Tired of the sun? Move onto the deck under the Boma. Emulate our hippos while you wallow with a glass of champagne in our warm waters pumped freshly from underground lakes hundreds of metres below the earth.
Let us spoil you with an evening of culinary delight, paraffin lamps hanging in the trees above you, dulling the stars with a smoky haze while you eat listening to the sounds of jackals calling and bushbuck barking.
Day Drives
Being one of the most densely stocked reserves in Northern KwaZulu-Natal, a drive with one of our knowledgeable field drivers is guaranteed to be an adventure. Come watch our hippos wallow, while their babies ride on their backs. Tea, coffee and rusks are served on the morning game drive.
Night Drives
Experience the African night with its magnificent skies! Nocturnal species such as ant-bear (aardvark), leopard, genets, night jars and a host of smaller creatures may also be found in the region. The night also allows one the opportunity to use other senses and to relax to the sounds and aroma of Africa. Light snacks with beverages and alcohol are served on the evening drive.
Donald our handler, introduces you to the majestic "Rambo and Rachel " - our habituated elephants .Marvel in God's creation as you are dwarfed by the majesty of their size, while Donald takes you on a learning adventure to discover just how incredible these creatures are.
U may meet Princess Kwezi on your game drive, raised by the famous Karen Trendler at her re-hab centre in Gauteng following her separation from her mother during the 2003 KwaZulu-Natal drought then successfully re-introduced to the reserve in 2005.
Rhino Tracking
At 15.00, join us at the Starlight Bar for a quick briefing by our knowledgeable guide then set off into the wilderness for an amazing adventure. You will be driven to a suitable location on our reserve deep in the hear of the Rhino Territory, where you will then head out on foot as your guide shows you how to track Rhinos the way the indigenous bushman did many, many moons ago. Before long you will find yourself in the presence of a Rhino, if your lucky enough maybe a few Rhinos, a sight that will have your adrenaline pumping and an experience, with memories that will last you a life time.
Forest Birds Walk
At 06.00, join us at the Boma for an early bird Tea and coffee before setting off for a short drive to a magical forest of fever trees, where you will surrounded by natures finest birds and animals. Your Guide will show you how to track animals by following their foot prints and how to identify birds, stopping along the way for refreshing drink of chilled mineral water. Return at approximately 08.00am for a well earned spot of breakfast, prepared especially for you.
There's always plenty for the kids to do in addition to being awestruck by the wild animals and incredible bush scenery. There are jungle gyms, seesaws, swings, a trampoline and tree house. Lounge area with TV and Sony Play-Stations.
